Mosaic Set

Read the squares like a row of windows at dusk, each one lit from inside by a different lamp. Sunbursts flare from every centre, and the white frames around them keep the light from spilling. The cropped top and drawstring skirt are made as one composition, but they are happy apart: the top over a long linen skirt, the skirt with a plain white vest on a hot street. An organic cotton blend crocheted open and light, the set breathes when the day gets warm. Women artisans work it round by round, so no two suns ever burn in the same order.
