Sunflower Shoulder Bag – Blue

Every sunflower here is turned up to the light, as if the bag were a patch of summer sky and the flowers had worked out where the sun was. One bloom to each square, brown-centred and open, repeated across front and back in a steady rhythm. The crochet is dense enough to hold its slouchy hobo shape and soft enough to give against the hip, swallowing a book, a bottle of water and a light jumper. One long strap. It is at its best with white, denim and sun-warmed skin. Organic cotton blend, crocheted one square at a time, each finished before the next is begun.
