3D Sunflower Cardigan – Beige

Set on a pale beige ground, the sunflowers take the stage. Each bloom rises from its square in relief, a ring of puff stitches around a domed centre, so when the light comes from the side the whole cardigan seems to turn toward it, like a field at mid-morning. On this soft ground the gold reads as warmth rather than noise. Throw it over a black tee and denim, or a slip dress when the evening cools. The fit is relaxed, sitting at the hip, with ribbing at the collar, cuffs and hem. Crocheted a square at a time, so the flowers keep a spacing that shifts a little between them.
