Primrose T-Shirt

Quiet from across the room, detailed up close. Small yellow flowers are scattered across a clean white tee, each anchored by a dark centre, like primroses on a bank before the rest of spring arrives. They sit proud of the surface, crocheted and applied by hand. At the sleeves and hem runs a checkerboard edge in yellow and brown, slightly raised, a neat border to a loose arrangement. Easy with denim, with a linen skirt, with almost anything; the back is left plain. Made by women artisans, the flowers falling across it like a loose handful of seed.
