Mushroom Cardigan – Olive

Moss after rain, and from it a small colony of red-capped toadstools, pushing up across the front and along the arms as if the cardigan had been left too long beneath the trees. There is humour in it, but also a kind of tenderness, a reminder of wet woodland walks and the things children notice first. Knitted chunky in a merino wool blend, it is warm, slightly rugged to the touch and carries real weight, with balloon sleeves and bright red buttons up a deep V. Layer it over a roll-neck when the weather turns. Each mushroom is made on its own and sewn down by hand, every cap leaning its own way.
