One great square, every colour spiralling out from the middle like rings on still water after a stone has gone in. Magenta, purple, lime, orange and teal step outward against a calm cream surround, and the same panel repeats across the back, so the blouse looks the same coming and going. The body and short flared sleeves stay in open cream crochet, light on the arms. A boxy boat-neck cut: tuck the front into jeans, or wear it loose over a tee. An organic cotton blend. Worked round by round, the bands settle into a rhythm that belongs to this piece alone.
