Mosaic Cardigan – Cobalt & Aqua

Think of a harbour on a bright morning: cobalt water, turquoise shallows, the pale aqua of light on the surface, a little sea-grey and cream where the foam breaks. Each square holds one of those rings, a small solid centre circled by a round of plump puff stitches, and no two sit quite the same way. The cobalt ground gathers them into one calm field. The cardigan hangs open on a plain cobalt band, falls to the hip and keeps its sleeves straight, finishing in a clean cobalt edge rather than a cuff. A cotton blend gives it a soft, substantial hand that moves rather than clings. Women artisans crochet it by hand, square by square, which is why the colours never fall in the same place twice.
