Patchwork Slipover – Rose

Seen from directly above, a rose builds inward petal over petal, and these squares do the same in pink, red, lilac and cream around a pale heart. The dark grid between them is a garden at dusk, holding each bloom in place. It is warm and romantic, yet stays composed. Layer the slipover over a long-sleeve top or a white shirt when the weather cools, with jeans or a soft skirt. Relaxed and boxy, it pulls straight on, and dark ribbed edges keep its shape at the neck and hem. Every square is crocheted separately and joined by hand, so each rose reads a little different.
