Froggy Tie Beanie

Some hats are made for warmth and some for joy. This one manages both. Two round frog eyes stand up on the crown, white-rimmed and wide awake, watching the world with the patience of a creature on a lily pad. The forest-green bonnet comes down over the ears, and long ties knot beneath the chin so it stays put on the windiest beach. The stitch moves between smooth panels and a bumpier ridged texture, as if the frog had just climbed out of the pond. Crocheted stitch by stitch by women artisans.
