Mosaic Cardigan – Pink

Picked from a garden border: soft pink petals, fresh green stems, and here and there the deep wine of a rose about to open. This cardigan has a sweetness to it, but the burgundy keeps it from turning sugary, a darker note the eye keeps returning to. It looks its best over a black roll-neck and a white skirt, the contrast doing half the work. Crocheted in an organic cotton blend, it is light and airy, open at the front with long sleeves and a pale pink ribbed edge. Every square is worked by hand and none quite matches the next; the whole carries the small irregularities of something made slowly.
