Balaclava – Black & White

Graphic as a woodcut print: black ground, cream squares, each one a frame within a frame around a pale centre. Look long enough and the pattern starts to move, the way a chessboard does at the edge of your vision. It has the discipline of a two-colour palette and the warmth of something made by hand. Wear this balaclava close and light under a plain black coat, or with a heavier knit when the frost sets in.
