Balaclava – Light Blue

Mist over the sea: that is the blue here. Across it the squares ring out in cream, tan and charcoal, small rounded targets that read almost like pebbles at low tide, each one smoothed into its own shape. It is the calmest balaclava of the family, a blue that suits grey days rather than fighting them. Pull it on for the coast path, the school run, a morning that needs a little gentleness. The squares are joined edge to edge into a close fit over head and neck, with matching blue trim at the face. The crochet is firm and even, built up by hand from small squares.
